Las Vegas Analyzation
Las Vegas was inspired by a direct quote from the movie Casino, starring Robert DeNiro. In it a character says, while describing Las Vegas, “This city is made of money.” I instantly thought of buildings literally made of money, and the rest fell into place.
I am most fond of the cake metaphor in this poem. The image of frosting just dripping off the towers especially appealed to me. Las Vegas is a city of extravagance, and buildings made of cake seemed a perfect fit.
