Of Coffee and People
Summary: Christy, Nate, and Sarza are three recent college graduates with absolutely nothing in common except for their unusual friendship with Ally, All-American girl and sorority sweetheart. When Ally becomes pregnant they band together to take care of Ally and her baby the only way they know how: by starting a coffee shop in upstate New York. Hilarity ensues as these four diverse personalities struggle to co-exist inside the drama of a college-town coffee house. Told through the eyes of Christy, our sarcastic and hapless narrator, we witness love, tragedy, and the effects of caffeine as they affect not only our main characters but a stream of customers, local eccentrics, and frequent homeless visitors over the nine months it takes to form something other than a baby: a family.

Author’s Notes: The story for OCAP popped into my head one night as I was trying to go to sleep, with a single sentence: ‘Sarza never would have agreed to it if Nate hadn’t gotten her drunk.’
I wrote the first chapter in my head and it was so funny already I knew I better get up and write it down or hate myself forever for forgetting the next morning. So I got up, grabbed a notebook, and the rest is history.
OCAP was never published in full on Fictionpress, but what little was put there was well-received. OCAP is my first comedy novel.
